Nutmeg Utility Products, Inc. is a privately held woman-owned company, founded and
incorporated in 1975. The company started when our founder had an idea for a better product.
This idea, which became the Nutmeg "Hose Hugger®," was developed and tested in the field, and subsequently approved for use; it continues to be the product of choice by many. This product is still manufactured by Nutmeg and has been copied by many other companies over the years.
From that point on, Nutmeg was off and running and has never stopped looking for new ideas and concepts to help our family of clients.
The company began in a two-car garage, eventually moving to its present location in 1980, and has since added an additional building to accomodate the warehouse expansion demands. Nutmeg is still a manufacturer of outside plant products but has become increasingly stronger in the distribution market. Although we are bound by confidentiality agreements not to disclose members of our client family, it is fair to say that in our client family rank some of the nation's most prestigious telephone and power companies.
Nutmeg has established long term relationships with quality world class manufacturing organizations. T.A. In 1983, Nutmeg saw a need for a repair facility to better serve our clients. This has only
managed to strengthen our position in the market and made Nutmeg a full service organization.
We are proud to say that we are one of a handful of authorized repair centers for some major
industry leaders.
Nutmeg has a full time sales team to better service our clients. Our entire sales team is comprised of former telephone and power company employees; together they have hundreds of years of experience and technical knowledge.

fair and equitable prices.

We coordinate all the work through our plant located in Cheshire, Connecticut, using a trained staff with many years of experience. From the refurbishing of fiber optic, pole, reel trailers, and tool carts to repair and calibration of your most delicate fiber optic splice and test equipment, Nutmeg stands ready to serve you.
Nutmeg's service facility holds an extensive inventory of parts and materials needed to repair most outside plant equipment along with quick access to any other parts which may be needed, including some items which are machined on location.
