NW 521-HT High Temperature Manhole Pump

Leading the Industry in High-Temperature Manhole Pumps

Among Nutmeg Utility Products’ most recognized innovations are its NW 521-HT High Temperature Manhole Pumps.

Unlike conventional submersible pumps that quickly fail in steam-filled utility vaults, Nutmeg’s high-temperature pumps are specifically engineered to perform in the extreme environments found beneath major metropolitan streets where steam distribution systems operate.

Steam utility manholes present some of the harshest pumping conditions imaginable. Elevated temperatures, condensate, and continuous operation require equipment designed specifically for these demanding applications. Nutmeg’s High Temperature Manhole Pumps have earned a reputation for dependable performance by helping utilities efficiently remove hot condensate while minimizing downtime and maintenance. Their lightweight design also makes them easier and safer for utility crews to deploy in confined spaces.

For electric, steam, and utility companies operating in cities where underground steam systems are critical infrastructure, these pumps provide the reliability necessary to keep crews productive and systems operating safely.

The NW521 is an extremely lightweight pump: 29.5 lbs. (excl. cable) with a capacity as high as pumps that normally weigh between 40 and 73 lbs. in our competitor’ range! Trouble-free operation with service intervals every 6 months (service performed in a few minutes only) makes the NW521 an ideal pump for Steam Manholes.

FEATURES: The shaft seals are grease lubricated. The pump seal consists of one radial lip seal (Simmer rings). The motor seal consists of one radial lip seal (Simmer ring). Both the pump seal and the motor seal are built in one complete unit of aluminum filled with grease. The rotor shaft has a tungsten carbide wear sleeve rotating against the lip seals.
